Where these opinions come from
I've built and run the programs I'm asked to opine on: penetration testing and security operations, incident response, compliance, and now AI governance. My opinions are grounded in what these programs actually require.
My strongest credential is that I led security operations in a high-stakes, adversarial (Web3) production environment, as Lead, Security Operations & IT at Polygon Labs, for four years of growth, M&A, and audit maturation.
I founded and led Redspin, a penetration-testing and information-security firm, for 14 years through its acquisition by CynergisTek (now Clearwater Compliance) in 2015. I also founded EarthPing and, more recently, Blue Motion Labs.
Held during AI/ML machine-vision research and development at Tygart Technology, where I directed facial-recognition and computer-vision R&D for defense and private-sector applications.
I publish original security research in the open, including the MCP Scorecard and the MCP Server Security Policy, so opposing counsel can check my methodology directly.
Process
How engagements work
Initial case review.
A confidential call to review the matter, check for conflicts, and confirm the case is a genuine fit for my background before anything moves forward.
Case materials and analysis.
Review of case materials, technical evidence, and relevant documentation, followed by independent analysis and opinion development.
Reports, deposition, and testimony.
Written expert reports where the case calls for one, deposition preparation and testimony, and trial support as the matter requires.

I have not yet been deposed or testified at trial.
